Why I write

Mesterul Manole is a poet, composer and musical storyteller with deep Romanian cultural roots. He takes his name from a legendary Romanian myth – Meșterul Manole, the master craftsman who gave everything to create something that would last forever. This heritage lives in his art.

He draws on the soul of Romania’s literary giants – from Mihai Eminescu (widely hailed as Romania’s most influential poet) to Vasile Alecsandri (a 19th-century poet who preserved Romania’s folk ballads and songs) –

weaving poetic depth and timeless wisdom into music made for our time.

Rediscovery through Music

After years of following a conventional path, Mesterul Manole rediscovered himself through music. In that personal renaissance he remembered his true voice and purpose, realizing that every poetry and song he writes can awaken something deep, emotional, and eternal in those who listen.

His melodies are more than entertainment – they are emotional experiences meant to touch hearts and remind us of the shared human feelings that never fade with time. Each track is an invitation to remember, to feel, and to heal.

Origins
I come from a place where love existed, but resources didn’t. There were days when hunger wasn’t a metaphor — it was a fact.

2003 — Leaving Romania
At 22, I left Romania. Not for adventure. Not to “find myself.” I left because I couldn’t keep watching my family suffer.

Norway — Discipline and silence Norway taught me structure, responsibility, and endurance. I learned to build a life brick by brick — even when my voice was quiet.

The return of the word
And then something older returned: the word.
Prayer. Voice. The courage to create again.
